Bay Town Trolley, located in Panama City, Fla., participated in the second annual "Dump the Pump" initiative on June 1, 2007.
The program encouraged people to try public transportation free of charge.
Sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association, the initiative’s purpose was to conserve fuel and save the environment. On average, one person taking public transit to work instead of driving eliminates over 3000 pounds of exhaust and pollutants.
